Specific Responsibilities Would Include

Position / Title: IT Manager (Asia)

 

IT Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and operate the company’s Asia infrastructure, including local and regional networks and servers. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with Group standards
  • Follow internal IT service and operational protocols, emphasizing service requests, incident, problem, change, and operations management.
  • Review, evaluate and enhance existing system/network architecture and practices for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Safeguard assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and backup procedures, information security, and control structures.
  • Ensure the reliability and security of IT systems, monitor network performance, and troubleshoot issues.

Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with IT vendors and contractors.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). Sustain the established SLAs for production applications and systems.
  • Oversee Managed Service Providers, ensuring SLA compliance and reporting performance metrics to Corporate IT.
  • Work closely with outsourced partners to provide guidance and oversight, ensuring proper processes, support, and service levels are maintained.

IT Procurement:

  • Oversee the procurement of IT supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
  • Manage inventory and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.

Internal Operations Facilitation:

  • Act as a liaison between the Asia Sourcing and US headquarters.
  • Ensure alignment of IT operations with the strategic direction set by the US headquarters.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on employee onboarding and upcoming project through IT Infrastructure support (E.g. Laptops, Macs, etc)

Team leadership and development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team IT professional across Asia
  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct evaluations that recognize achievements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support team members in their career aspirations and skill development.
  • Effectively manage team resources, including workload distribution and project assignments, to optimize efficiency and ensure that all projects are adequately staffed and supported.

Additional Requirements                                                                                                                                       

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, in a multinational company. Sourcing Company / Buying Office Experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, vendor management, and IT operations.
  • Experience in supporting and coordinating Wintel server and Microsoft O365 application suite functionality.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
  • Proven track record of driving team results and achieving goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adaptable and flexible attitude, allowing for problem-solving from different angles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel to different office locations within the region as required.
