Position Summary
The position of Logistics – Manager Origin Bookings will report to the Sr. Manager of Origin Logistics and will lead Origin Booking team to direct the movement of inbound ocean freight for all Centric Brands division, spanning multiple origin countries, DC locations, including direct shipments to customer locations, ensure the international transportation is moving efficiently and cost-effectively. Also frequently collaborate with multiple business groups to ensure goods are effectively delivered.
Supervises: Up to 10, the ability to support leading additional staff
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead origin operation team manage/improve the movement of international ocean freight, ensure goods are delivered timely and cost-effectively.
- Manage/create/improve cost and performance models for global ocean including actuals, estimates, targets, and execution against expectation
- Support leadership in data mining, analysis, proactive solutions to improve performance, oversight and adherence to goals and initiative across the globe
- Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly business reports and develop/track and drive improvements of leading and lagging metrics including KPI measurement and creation
- Lead development of improving baseline metrics, onboard, container utilization, consolidations (single port and multi country) at origin, best mode/cost utilization, carrier allocation fulfillment
- Support and lead team members to establish and maintain effective communication leading problem solving/options between internal customers, booking agents, our ocean/air carriers (direct and 3rd party) & factories
- Coordinate to continuous process/working flow improvements, and ensure adherence to SOP established and refreshed to achieve high levels of qualify services
- Collaborate with Centric business groups to ensure goods could be approved and moved correctly, understand various requirements of businesses and uniform/simplify the standard process if possible.
- Ensure and track shipments (all modes) leave timely and continue moving through any potential transshipment ports
- If/when issues with a booking occur, quickly find best alternative options given ready dates and ability to load/unload cargo and communicate with appropriate teams noting impacts in clear/concise manner
- Troubleshoot and diagnose in-transit issues for the division assigned all ship modes
- Support timely booking of shipments with booking agents, internal customer production teams and factories
- Guide/coach team members to complete tasks with efficient working style, provide support anytime if needed
- Proactively resolve ocean and air transit time and booking questions and issues when they arise
- Prioritize daily workflow according to company’s priorities and needs
