Specific Responsibilities Would Include

We are seeking a Trim Manager to oversee sourcing, development, procurement, and inventory management of trims (e.g., buttons, zippers, labels, threads, elastics, hangtags). The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, in-depth knowledge of apparel trims and trim suppliers, and experience managing timelines and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trim Development & Sourcing:
    • Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to align on trim requirements and ensure seamless integration of trims into seasonal collections.
    • Research and source new and innovative trims that support the brand’s design vision, sustainability initiatives, and cost objectives.
    • Build and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with global trim suppliers to support ongoing business needs and innovation.
  • Trim Management
    • Create, update, and manage a comprehensive trim manual and physical/virtual trim library to ensure easy access and reference for cross-functional teams.
    • Update Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems with all new materials, assign and manage RM codes, and ensure data accuracy across platforms.
    • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely development, approval, and delivery of trims for both sample and bulk production, proactively resolving any potential issues.
  • Costing & Negotiation
    • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms with trim suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and secure the best value without compromising quality or timelines.
    • Monitor cost fluctuations, analyze market trends, and recommend alternative solutions to maintain profitability and margin goals.
  • Inventory & Logistics
    • Work closely with the Sourcing and Logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of trims to factories for samples and bulk production.
    • Track, document, and proactively resolve any delivery, quality, or timeline issues related to trims, escalating as needed to ensure minimal impact to production.
  • Cross-Functional Communication
    • Act as the primary liaison between Design, Product Development, Production, and external vendors on all trim-related matters, fostering effective cross-functional communication.
    • Participate in cross-functional calendar meetings to align on development and production timelines, ensuring all trim-related milestones are met.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in trim sourcing, development, and management within the apparel or fashion industry.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of apparel trims, supplier networks, and end-to-end production processes.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Outstanding time-management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in PLM systems, Miro, and advanced Excel skills.

Salary Range:  $95,000 - $125,000

Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
