As a designer for Centric Brands, you’ll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders. The challenges are exciting and the possibilities endless – as you contribute your skills in a vibrant, customer- and people-centric culture that celebrates you as a valuable member of the team.

Specific Responsibilities Would Include

As a Senior Designer for our Sports & Entertainment and Culture division, you will shape the creative direction of contemporary, sport-inspired apparel that resonates on and off the field. Combining technical expertise with modern design sensibility, you’ll develop innovative knitwear and cut-and-sew collections that speak to today’s athletes, performers, and fans.

Collaborating closely with product development, graphics, and production teams, you’ll bring concept to creation—crafting collections that balance performance, comfort, and cultural relevance across men’s, women’s, and youth lines.

Creative Strategy & Innovation

  • Lead seasonal concept development by identifying emerging trends in team sports, entertainment, and streetwear culture.

  • Translate trend insights into compelling color stories, fabric narratives, and silhouette direction with a focus on knits and cut-and-sew apparel.

  • Partner with graphic designers to develop cohesive visual themes that enhance brand storytelling.

  • Create presentation decks, mood boards, and mockups that clearly communicate creative intent and inspire collaboration.

  • Continuously research new materials, finishing techniques, and sustainable processes to push design boundaries.

Design Execution & Product Development

  • Oversee design from initial sketch through final production—ensuring aesthetic consistency, fit integrity, and technical accuracy.

  • Drive the design of garments, trims, tags, and packaging that reinforce brand identity and quality standards.

  • Review prototypes, color separations, and final approvals to ensure design intent is realized across all product categories.

  • Partner with technical design and production to troubleshoot construction details and optimize for scalability and performance.

  • Maintain a curated design reference library and digital archive for team inspiration and efficiency.

Collaboration & Vendor Partnerships

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless development cycles.

  • Collaborate with mills, factories, and vendors to source innovative fabrics, explore new washes and treatments, and implement best-in-class processes.

  • Nurture new supplier relationships to stay connected to the latest resources, technologies, and trends.

Leadership & Team Culture

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining precision and a strong design point of view.
  • Communicate effectively across teams, balancing creative vision with commercial awareness and brand consistency.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • 7+ years of apparel design experience, with a strong focus on knits, cut-and-sew, and contemporary or sports-inspired collections.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovation, storytelling, and technical expertise across multiple fabrications.

  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Mac OS; proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong sketching, rendering, and presentation skills.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment.
