Designer

What could be more exciting than putting your mark on some of the world’s most famous and well-loved fashion brands? As a designer for Centric Brands, you’ll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders. The challenges are exciting and the possibilities endless – as you contribute your skills in a vibrant, customer- and people-centric culture that celebrates you as a valuable member of the team.

Specific Responsibilities Would Include

As a key contributor within the Centric Brands Kids division, you will focus on the development of the Off-White Kids apparel line. This role blends creative vision with technical precision, bringing Off-White’s signature luxury streetwear DNA—industrial graphics, bold typography, elevated basics, and cultural relevance—into a high-quality, age-appropriate kidswear collection. You will partner cross-functionally to guide product from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with both Off-White brand standards and Centric Brands’ operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Strategy & Design

  • Lead seasonal design development through the Off-White brand lens, translating cultural trends, art references, and streetwear influences into kidswear concepts.
  • Develop color palettes, fabric narratives, and silhouettes that reflect Off-White’s unique aesthetic while meeting kidswear functional needs.
  • Create mood boards, concept decks, and design presentations that communicate inspiration and direction to both Centric and Off-White partners.
  • Partner with graphic teams to reinterpret Off-White’s core brand elements—arrows, diagonal stripes, labeling systems, ironic messaging—into cohesive, brand-right kidswear graphics.
  • Research innovative materials, trims, and sustainable solutions to support brand-forward and future-looking design.

Technical Development & Documentation

  • Build detailed technical packages covering all embellishment techniques, including patches, embroidery, heat transfers, engineered graphics, specialty inks, and elevated branding details.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Technical Design, and global vendor partners to ensure flawless translation of Off-White’s design intent.
  • Create accurate manufacturing worksheets including construction details, stitch specifications, trim callouts, and branding placement.
  • Develop technical layout sheets for wovens and knits, aligned with Off-White’s premium fabrication standards.
  • Update wash and finishing callouts—particularly for denim and treated fabrics—in line with Off-White’s aesthetic and vendor capabilities.
  • Attend fittings, identify refinements, and incorporate revisions into PLM and final tech documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong partnerships with internal Centric teams and Off-White stakeholders to ensure smooth seasonal development across all milestones.
  • Work closely with mills, factories, and trim suppliers to source materials and treatments that meet both Off-White brand expectations and Centric quality standards.
  • Maintain a digital and physical archive of references, fabric developments, and brand assets to support ongoing creative alignment.

Leadership & Process Optimization

  • Ensure alignment with the Centric Brands Kids seasonal calendar, maintaining timely delivery of design work, tech packs, and approvals.
  • Manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining a strong Off-White design point of view.
  • Communicate design intent clearly across teams, balancing creative ambition with commercial insight into the kidswear market.
  • Support continuous improvement in design operations, workflow, and cross-functional communication.
  • Uphold all requirements for Off-White brand consistency, Centric operational standards, trims compliance, and kids’ safety regulations

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design; experience in Technical Design, Product Development, or Graphic Design is a plus.
  • 5+ years of design experience in contemporary, luxury, or streetwear apparel; kidswear experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, trims, and finishing techniques.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fabric construction, yarn systems, and embellishment methods.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; familiarity with Flex PLM preferred.
  • Excellent sketching, rendering, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of Child Safety Guidelines and how they impact design, construction, and trims selection.
