Specific Responsibilities Would Include

Overall Responsibilities

 

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Merchandiser to be based in China, working closely with the Senior Sourcing Manager. The successful candidate will serve as the key operational link between our regional Asia-Pacific supplier base and the US Product Development team, ensuring accurate costing, timely cost analysis, and flawless order execution.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in product development and sourcing, with a focus on hair accessories, Fashion Jewelry, cosmetics, personal care, bath, as well as solid skills of managing data, analysis, reports, calendar and PD related software / platform. Knowledge of product design will be an additional bonus for this position.

 

1. Supplier Sourcing & Price Negotiation
Identify, evaluate, and onboard factories across China and Southeast Asia capable of producing kids licensed like Disney Character as well as Claire's hair accessories, fashion jewelry, Beauty Accessories, Bath & Beauty. Conduct factory audits, benchmark pricing, negotiate unit costs, MOQs, and payment terms in support of the Senior Sourcing Manager's commercial strategy.

 

2. Costing & Landed Cost Management
Prepare accurate, fully loaded cost sheets for all product categories, covering ex-factory price, freight, duties, and surcharges to arrive at precise US and Canada market landed costs. Validate quotes against market benchmarks, flag variances proactively, and ensure timely submission to the US Production management (PM), sales and product development (PD) teams.

 

3. Cross-Functional Communication & Market Intelligence
Serve as the primary on-the-ground liaison between regional suppliers and the New York PD team, providing regular updates on costing, and supplier performance. Share regional market insights — including new material trends, capacity shifts, and competitive pricing — to support strategic sourcing decisions across the full product portfolio.

Additional Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Product Development, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in merchandising or sourcing within beauty, personal care, fashion accessories, or licensed consumer goods.
• Strong data management and cost-sheet proficiency.
• Proficiency in sourcing/ERP software such as SAP, and project management platforms such as Airtable or Monday.com.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage time effectively.
• Understanding of the US market trend and culture.

 

Language Proficiency
• Excellent written and spoken English; confident communicating with US-based stakeholders across time zones.
